The 4 week New Zealand College Employment Programme assists international
students to find both part time (20hrs/wk) and full time (30+hrs/wk) work in New Zealand. This
service is suitable for long term students and others who have working holiday visas.

Programme includes 8 hours of Targeted Employment Training, PLUS supervised job search PLUS job interviews
PLUS 100 hours of ESL classes.
ALL students will have Targeted Employment Training at the New Zealand College with instruction in the
following areas: formulating an appropriate curriculum vita, writing a convincing covering job letter, making an
effective presentation and impressing an employer at a “job interview”. |
| Placement & Pay |
Placement will depend on English level, education and experience. All industries will have varying requirements
for English proficiency.
Remuneration and pay rate will usually be determined by English communication ability, previous work
experience and education. Range $NZ11 - $NZ17/hr |
| Type of Work |
The type of work is varied and will be in the:
- Hospitality
- Au Pair
- Cleaning
- Retail
- Service Station outlet
- Tourism
- Seasonal Farm Work
- Construction
- Restaurant
- Bar industries
There will also be occasional
opportunities for temporary or casual work like fruit picking or stock taking/general shelf maintenance in the
retail sector. A job search in 3 selected areas starts the first week of the programme. |
